BRIDE & GROOM LINCOLN

Bride & Groom Lincoln is a magazine content-driven, designed and printed by myself and two of my university peers for our final print assignment.

From the beginning I was keen to produce a bridal magazine with the focus on both the bride and groom. I already new there were so many different wedding magazines on the shelf so the aim was to create a local, A5 supplement magazine that would sit inside a bigger, brand name such as Brides Magazine.

Before we started producing content, we all conducted some market research. We shared  a survey online with our target audience to get their thoughts and attended the local, Lincoln Bailgate Wedding Fair - we took photo's, chatted to wedding businesses and watched a wedding fashion show to get a taste of up-to-date trends.

From there, we presented our findings to our print class and tutors to gain further feedback. Our tutors were not so sure about the idea of aiming our magazine at both the male and female audience but I had found some figures to prove that this could be a successful proposal. I also like the thought of the bride and groom being able to plan more together and include pages that would also interest men as well as women.

The outcome of the magazine since completion has been successful, we did in the end focus the magazine more towards the bride but there are several references within the magazine included for the groom and we wanted the name of the magazine to reflect this, I also loved the idea of having a sketch design of a bride and groom on the front cover instead of the normal glossy cover bride. I contacted my lovely friend and fashion student Lauren Maher, who kindly used her talented skills to provide us with a very unique magazine cover.

So, after long days and evenings planning, preparing, prepping, writing, editing and about 20 prints later,  I present to you Bride and Groom Lincoln!

If you have a spare two minutes, give it a flick through, I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions!
