LINCOLN FOOD STREET FESTIVAL HAS RETURNED AFTER BEING POSTPONED BECAUSE OF RECENT SNOWFALL

Originally scheduled for March 1 to 4, organisers at Lincoln BIG and Market Place Europe have managed to re-schedule the free event and bring it back in just three weeks, which is now underway and will continue to Sunday, March 25.


Lincoln’s High Street has been filled with the delicious smells of cuisine from across the globe.


Spanish paella, Greek kebabs, German sausages and Jamaican jerk chicken are among the fine foods on offer.


Visitors can also expect a range of sweat treats including, chocolate-covered churros, waffles, crepes and more.

Joel Murray, digital marketing coordinator at Lincoln Big said: “The Lincoln Food Street festival is really great to bring a bit of life to the High Street.


“It brings a lot of vibrant colours, great smells and sounds that make the city a great place to be.”


He added: “The traders are from across Europe, so it is really great to show the offer that Lincoln has.”


The festival, which will run alongside Discover Lincolnshire Weekend, is open from 9am-9pm Friday to Saturday and 9am-5pm on Sunday.


There is also a fully licensed Polish bar and live music on Lincoln Cornhill, which starts from 6pm on Friday and Saturday.


The festival will return again with more sizzling surprises this summer, between Thursday July 19th and Sunday July 22.

The opening night of the Indie- Lincs Film Festival took place at the University of Lincoln last night.


Members of the public and students gathered at the Stephen Langton building to watch ten screenings produced by students from the Lincoln school of Film and Media.


In it’s third year, the international event supports low and micro budget films, and their filmmakers.

The festival will continue over the weekend with more screenings plus special guest speakers from the industry and the closing awards.
